A janitor is being hailed as a hero for diverting terrified students away from the teen who carried out one of the deadliest school shootings in US history.
As a fire alarm sounded and bullets began to ring out at Parkland’s Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Wednesday afternoon, some students fled from their classrooms into the hallway – unknowingly into the path of AR-15-wielding, 19-year-old madman Nikolas Cruz.

“After I started running with the people, I realized that wasn’t the best choice because there was a janitor that thank God stopped me and all of my fellow students from going in that direction, towards the shooter,” school senior David Hogg told ABC 13.
